About Aimee at Essential Remedial Massage

Who Am I?

My name is Aimee, and I am a remedial massage therapist based in Penwortham, Preston.

I hold a Level 3 qualification in anatomy, physiology and pathology which gives me a great insight into the human body and the stress and strain we can carry. I also have a Diploma as a massage therapist, specifically treating as a remedial therapist to aid clients with muscular and soft tissue conditions.

I’m a firm believer that everyone, no matter their gender, age, size or beliefs, deserves to live a pain-free life, whether this be physical pain from an injury or emotional pain they are holding onto.

Ever client is treated as an individual and you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns, emotions and what you would like to gain from your remedial treatment.

Most clients contact me with lower back pain caused by their occupation or shoulder and neck tension from the stress and strain of home life.  I am yet to see a client that isn’t holding onto more than they realise, and this is the beauty of a remedial massage.

Our bodies are put under pressure daily from work, home, children, bereavement, loss of purpose after retirement; the list is endless, and all these environmental situations take their toll on our bodies.

I like to describe remedial massage as a full MOT, as we often take better care of our car than we do ourselves.

Massage can be a daunting thought if you haven’t had one before and are unaware of what happens.  This is where I like to take this anxiety away and give you a breakdown of what you can expect from your Remedial Massage with me.

As I am a mobile therapist, I am fully equipped to provide you the full remedial treatment in your own home or setting. I realise not everyone is as mobile as they once were and others are simply trying to juggle more things than they can manage. Taking time out for yourself can often be the one thing on the job list that never gets ticked off.

Take away the stress of driving or catching the bus or Uber to your appointment; let me come to you.

Next, I’m often asked, How much space do I need?

This will all depend on the treatment you require. I will only take bookings from regular clients and new clients that I have spoken with first and discussed your symptoms.  This will enable us to plan how long you will need and give you an idea of what is achievable within that timeframe.

If we determine you need a 45-minute treatment on your feet, hands and arms and you are unable to lie on the treatment table, then I will simply need enough space to walk around your chair and sit on a small stool in front of you.

Should you require a 1–2 hour treatment with the table (this is often the case), we will need an area to allow me to walk around the table which is approximately 1m x 2m in size.

If you have any concerns at all and you would like to discuss this by phone or message, then please feel free to contact me and we can make a plan for you.
